도시철도 9호선의 일반열차의 영문표기

도시철도 9호선은 일반열차와 급행열차가 구분되어있다.
그런데 전광판에

급행열차 ; express
일반열차 ; common
로 표시되는 것을 볼 수 있다.


express의 사전적의미는 다음과 같다.
영영사전 ; public transport consisting of a fast train or bus that makes only a few scheduled stops
영한사전 ; ① 표현하다 ② 나타내다 ③ 발표하다 ④ 고속의 ⑤ 특별한

따라서 고속열차는 express(train)


common의 사전적 의미는 다음과 같다.

그런데 영어에는 급행열차의 상대어로 local이라는 단어가 따로 있다.

local

영영사전 ; public transport consisting of a bus or train that stops at all stations or stops 

 

따라서 일반열차를 local이라고 표현하는 것이 타당하지 않을까?

영어로 표기하는 것은 외국인을 위한것이지 결코 우리나라사람을 위한 것은 아니지 않은가?
